As I said last article, I would do an article on the new burger truck set from LEGO, so now here I am doing that. It was a bit more overpriced than I initially assumed, so I wasn't too pleased but I guess it's okay. Anyway, before we get to the price, I want to just introduce the set. It's directed towards those 5 years old and up and included 194 pieces. The sole build is obviously a burger truck, or rather a burger van because of its humble size with a big detachable burger housing the chef. Technically, the vehicle is just a flatbed van that carries a big hollow replica of the products its owners are selling. Anyway, the set, in terms of characters, is standard for these food truck sets from CITY: 2. There is the burger chef and then some random civilian who appears to be in tune with the local music scene (pun intended)
As you can see, there isn't too much to this set functionally (mostly aesthetics), and definitely nothing that will blow your mind, so just keep that in mind.
Looking at this thing, it does have a nice outward appearance and obviously stands out with the painted flames that contrast the mostly black vehicle. The van's got a cool, rounded design to it which I enjoy quite a bit. The wheels catch my attention as well due to them not being common in this theme.
One of my favorite things about this set is actually a minor decision that LEGO's designers made when designing this set: the color of the burger buns. Basically, when you show up at McD's or whatever your go-to fast food place is, you get these peachy buns on your burgers and in some situations, with absolutely no browning.

This is what I mean. I know that these aren't the best examples but just imagine for yourself a bland bun from a fast food chain burger versus one of those really dark buns from higher-end places. They taste different as well. Plain dark buns without seeds are top-tier.
Again, I'm aware that this may seem like a weird thing to be looking at and saying that that is my favorite detail, but everyone has their own opinions, and in my case it is something so dumb and minor that most people won't even look at whatever it is.
Moving on, we have the back of the burger truck which has a swinging door to allow entrance into the burger. There's also a little step on the bumper to help the cook get up to the door.
There's not much to say about the back so I guess I'll just move on to talk about the interior of the burger since it's probably something you are wondering about. There is in fact an interior, albeit an extremely compact one. Not too impressive, but obviously it is looking at a big burger that doesn't so the inside isn't too important.
One more little thing: this set doesn't have any stickers! I do enjoy printed pieces as much as the next person, so when they come in cool designs like here I'm pretty pleased.
This set gets about a 7/10 for good design and characters. The factor that keeps the rating so far from 10 is the price - a disappointing $19.99. Some people though, are saying that this set is priced really well, but I politely beg to differ. It is definitely visually distinctive in a positive way, but the price has the power to ward off potential buyers.
