21181 MINECRAFT The Rabbit Ranch

Image
21181 MINECRAFT The Rabbit Ranch Here's another MINECRAFT set that I have been pining for a while now. It's priced fairly and has a lot of little details like sunflowers, so this is definitely a kit that will meet the standards for many children and AFOLs. It's quite a change from the jumper-loaded sets just a year or two ago, but this phenomenon is explainable. Minecraft has undergone many changes over the years. 21181 MINECRAFT The Rabbit Ranch is a perfect example of this. Anyway, let's dive into this review. This set is for 8+ and contains 340 pieces to build a giant rabbit house, a small farm, some rabbits, and 2 minifigures. This is a great lot of stuff that you get here for the price, which is $29.99.  Here is the box, and let me say that this is probably one of the most accurate graphics on a LEGO set I have ever seen. This is  what you get.  Let's start off with the rabbit house. It's a really clean little build, and it houses a crafting table and a to...

LEGO to team up with Epic Games

Image
LEGO to team up with Epic Games Just a few days ago, LEGO announced that they were teaming up with Epic Games, the developer of the wildly popular game Fortnite, to create a metaverse for people of all ages to enjoy. This could lead to a new LEGO theme, brick-based additions to Fortnite, and other cool stuff. One thing to note: although these two giants are  planning the metaverse to be family-friendly, Epic's biggest asset, Fortnite, isn't. I'm not sure how this is gonna turn out, but one thing is for certain: there won't be much Fortnite involved. This is huge not just because of Epic but because of Epic's partnerships. STAR WARS, NBA, you name it, are a key part of Fortnite. If we do get Fortnite sets, there will probably be minifigs supposed to be characters from sponsorships. That means that John Wick, Stranger Things, Nike, Rocket League, Ghostbusters, Halo, The Walking Dead, G.I Joe, and much more will be appearing in these new kits. 'Metaverse' is b...

21324 IDEAS 123 Sesame Street

Image
21324 IDEAS 123 Sesame Street IDEAS has always been a wacky theme, and it got even more wacky when this Sesame Street set was released. It took me a while to get this review out, not just because I forgot that this set existed until close to its retirement, but because news of IDEAS sets is totally hidden by the next wave of normal LEGO sets, like CITY and STAR WARS. Also, because I just felt like doing a IDEAS review. As you can see, over the past few reviews, I've expanded to other themes besides CITY and NINJAGO. So, today I'll be reviewing 21324 IDEAS 123 Sesame Street.  This set is for 18+ and includes 1367 pieces which are used to assemble a chunk of Sesame Street and 5 minifigures, which are: Big Bird, Elmo, Ernie, Bert and Cookie Monster. Oscar the Grouch is also "included" in this set, but he's just a big ball with printing designed to look like his face atop a trash can, which is pretty hilarious.  Here is the whole thing, and it does actually look like...

40517 CREATOR EXPERT Vespa

Image
40517 CREATOR EXPERT Vespa The Vespa is an iconic Italian motorbike, and with good reason. This vehicle has been made famous not just by being a great bike. This motorbike has made its way into countless TV shows, movies, and LEGO sets, which just happens to be what this site is about. Today, I'll be reviewing the 40517 CREATOR Expert Vespa set. This is a relatively small build, but nevertheless, this set is really authentic and a great model to put on a shelf. This set includes 118 pieces, and is for 9+. All you get is a Vespa motorbike, but it's actually  pretty good for what you're paying here. I'm really satisfied for what you get for $9.99, which is dirt cheap when it comes to LEGO. It packs detail and function into one little 9"x 12"x 6" motorbike and the bold red color really helps this thing stand out among the other Seasonal releases. I'm also really surprised that you get stickers here, but it just adds more authenticity to this build.  Th...

76906 SPEED CHAMPIONS 1970 Ferrari 512 M

Image
76906 SPEED CHAMPIONS 1970 Ferrari 512 M I said that I would do a Speed Champions review in last week's article, so today I am fulfilling my promise and doing one for real. It was pretty hard to pick out a set to review, but I finally decided on a vintage Ferrari which honestly doesn't look that old. Introducing the 76906 SPEED CHAMPIONS 1970 Ferrari 512 M set. This set is for 8+ and includes 291 pieces which you can use to build a car and a single minifigure, which is the usual formula for these racing car sets. I'm really happy with the design, and to be honest, it feels like every SC set's design is "revolutionary' in the world of LEGO. The front of the car and area just beyond the seat are splendid, making use of unorthodox techniques.  As shown, there isn't much to cover so this review will be relatively short compared to my other posts.  The spoilers are odd, considering the fact that most people have never seen 2 spoilers on a single car before. New April 2022 sets revealed! New Adult sets? 90th Anniversary Celebration!

New April 2022 sets revealed! New Adult sets? A new month means new LEGO sets, and what better way is there to enter this month of April than an onslaught of amazing sets with a few piece counts of over 1000? There isn't. In this article, I'll be going over some of these new sets and I'll share my thoughts on them. One thing before we begin: this month is already proving itself to be a pricey one for LEGO so I recommend waiting a while for discounts before getting these. BACK TO THE FUTURE   Time Machine We'll begin with one of the hottest sets from this month's wave, the iconic Back to the Future  DeLorean. This is honestly one of the best 18+ sets ever, and a great improvement from the cuusoo version a few years back. This set includes 1,872 pieces and two minifigures, who are Doc Brown and Marty McFly, from the Back to the Future  movies.  This set comes at a so-so price in the US:  $169.99 . In the UK, it goes for about  £149.99 , and in Europe f...
