60307 CITY Wildlife Rescue Camp
60307 CITY Wildlife Rescue Camp
With the new wave of LEGO will come some amazing sets, and this 60307 CITY Wildlife Rescue Camp is one of a kind. It's a great set, and it includes some amazing animal elements, clearly painstakenly designed, as they are absolutely splendid looking. This set contains a truck, a complex perched on top of the trees, a rocky ledge, another rock, a small boat, a tiny airplane, and 6 minifigures. One of these figs is from the CITY television show, and that is Sleet. This set also comes with a motorcycle and 7 animals. They are an elephant, a lion, a lioness, two lion cubs, a monkey, and an eagle.
The set is loaded with cool functions and builds, and I still can't believe that this set has only 503 pieces. That's nothing compared to some of the other sets this size. Now, let's look at the truck.
This is a really simple yet wonderful take on today's off-road vehicles, and I congratulate LEGO for this.
As you can see, this set is pretty wild. There's that treehouse and the lions' home, so let's look at them.
I don't really care for LEGO's decision to use colored road parts as rivers, but I guess that it doubles as a decorative addition to people's already packed transit systems. I absolutely love this treehouse, and for a couple of reasons. First of all, I love it when cloth is used in sets, especially for canopies. I don't know if anyone cares, but this is one of the many reasons I like this part of the set. Secondly, you can actually access this treehouse fully, unlike lots of the other treehouses. It allows the user to enjoy the full experience with this build, which is something I think most people like.
Also, it isn't too tall or too short, which is a huge problem with other builds.
The lion's den is a great addition to this set, and I really think that we should get more animal-related side builds in the future since it shows that CITY isn't just bustling noisy city. The big tree on top of the den looks super cool, and the steep cliff face is perfect, with the overhanging leaves.
Another thing. This is one of the first CITY sets to feature baby animals that do not live in the ocean.
The motorboat and plane are fine additions to this set, and clearly display a difference to the usual planes and boats. For one thing, this motorboat is without a control plate and seats, which isn't common for these things. But anyway, this is a superb vehicle and side build, and it's really wonderful to see other sets with the motorboat, even as far back as 2015.
The plane doesn't look safe at all, and is more similar to a helicopter than a plane, to be honest. That little propellor at the back of the plane makes it look kinda experimental, like a new model. I'll have to say that this is good that we're seeing new plane designs, 'cause I'm pretty tired of commercial aircraft heads constantly appearing in sets. All I can say is that is is an improvement, and maybe this signifies that LEGO will use different designs for other builds in the future, which I look forward to.
