79003 THE HOBBIT An Unexpected Gathering
79003 THE HOBBIT An Unexpected Gathering
This set is very impressive, it is probably by far the best THE HOBBIT set that you can find nowadays. The build is very good with many minifigures. It has almost all the main members of the party, the only one left out being Thorin Oakenshield. You get many accessories in this set like a book and several maps. This set is a good source of accessories if you're ready to pay a pretty large price for this set. This set includes Bag End. This set also contains 6 minifigures: Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo Baggins, Dwalin, Balin, Bofur and Bombur.
This set is really cool, as I have said before. The amount of accessories is amazing, even compared to the accessories in the 70620 NINJAGO City. When you look at Bag End, it doesn't look like much, but like most builds, you have to turn it around if you want to see the interior, which is quite nice. I like how LEGO put in so many green pieces and not a lot of brown, except for the wood. The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit themes are really just a bunch of sets that have grass and flowers and crops. Of course, I'm not saying it's bad. These themes are very good. That's why people want them to return. Anyway, Bombur isn't that screen-accurate since he's not that fat here. Bofur and Gandalf the Grey are very similar to the characters in the movie, apart from the fact that Bofur doesn't carry a pickaxe. If there was going to be one improvement to this set, I would say that there should be a new mold for Gandalf's staff, it should be spikier. Sadly, this set is discontinued so the pricing I give may not be accurate.
This An Unexpected Gathering starts at around $202 new and $146 used.
