 60292 CITY Town Centre

When 2021 began, the CITY theme drastically changed, with fewer pieces and smaller builds. The new road and fire pieces were also a big change. Most of it isn't an improvement, but some of it is. A few sets are pretty nice and have a lot of stuff that you won't get in pre-2021 sets, like the road pieces, like I have mentioned before, and way more characters! Today, I'll be reviewing 60292 CITY Town Centre. In this set, you get: a car wash, a pizza place, 11 road pieces, a recycling truck, a small car, a motorcycle, 2 crates, a motorbike and 10 minifigures. Only two of them are named, and they are: Shirley Keeper and Madison. This set also includes a dog and studs for shooting.

For accessories, you get: a water launcher/gun, 2 ninja swords, a broom, a shovel, 3 letters, 2 kendo helmets, a motorbike helmet, a controller/device, 2 pizza boxes, a pizza, a baby carrier, a leash, a pair of red berries and a crowbar. 

This lineup of minifigures isn't that great, with only 2 minifgures being named. Of course, every CITY set has to have it's exclusives, so let's talk about them. Firstly, let's talk about the fencing instructor. He has the same hair piece as Krux from NINJAGO and not much characters come with that hair, so that's pretty cool. Next, the policeman. His head piece appears to be new, if I'm not mistaken. And lastly, the chef, we've seen lots of his pieces before but he's wearing green pants, and usually the chef minifigures wear darker peach pants.

The recycling truck is pretty nice, and has a new design like most of the new vehicles. It can carry and pick up both of the crates with it's crane arm. The sides are cool because usually we see rounded bricks on the sides, but now we just see plain black and orange sides. Also, the wheels at the back of the truck aren't covered by the edges like the front wheels.

Here's the blue car and it looks neat and clean, and it has enough space for the minifigure to fit inside it, unlike the  Twin-Pod Cloud Car from 75222 STAR WARS Betrayal at Cloud City. It's designed to fit inside the car wash. Again, it has a different design. The car wash has spinning brushes and looks really good, especially at the front. The car wash also has water pieces that are cool, since you usually only get one or two in sets, but you get 5, or even 6 in this one.

Finally, I'm going to talk about the road pieces. Unlike the older road plates, these pieces need to be connected with 4x2 tiles, and they also need more tiles like 1x4s, 4x2s, and maybe even 2x2s, to fill in the cavities. So these roads are not as practical as the old ones, but they're still okay.
